The Kansas City Scouts hockey operations department is pleased to announce the addition of Rocco Carzo as East Coast Scout.
“We are thrilled to add Rocco to our scouting staff,” said Scouts Head Coach and General Manager Simon Watson. “The Northeastern US is an area that is hard for us to reach when it comes to player evaluation. Rocco’s passion for the game and strong desire to help young players line up directly with the philosophy of our organization. We are excited to begin working with Rocco and be a part of the next chapter of his career.”
Carzo announced his retirement from professional hockey in March 2020. He played the last five seasons with the Kansas City Mavericks, ending his professional career with 407 ECHL games played and 292 career points on 112 goals and 180 assists. Carzo, a native of Media, Pennsylvania, served as the Mavericks captain for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
“I came to Kansas City 6 years ago to play for the ECHL Mavericks not knowing much about the city nor the layout of hockey. Over those 6 seasons, I have seen immense growth of hockey within the area and fully anticipate it to continue, especially with the addition of the Kansas City Scouts,” stated Carzo. “Although I am sad to be leaving the area, I was very honored to be asked by Coach Watson to take on the role as their East Coast Scout, and I am excited to continue to be a part of the growth that the Scouts organization will be bringing. I look forward to evaluating some of the top end talent the east coast has to offer and connecting them with the great opportunity the Scouts organization and the city of Kansas City has to offer to these young men!”
